THE WEDDING of Maiya Dae and Cetrok Aengdi
The Lagoon
The long line of the shore curves into this beautiful bay, white sands falling
down to the deep azure of the ocean. The cliffs above the tropical forest
provide a background to the deep green leaves and the tangle of branches.
From the cliff summit to a pool by the bay, a glorious waterfall drops its
misty embrace, the spray shattering rainbows over the nearby trees. A flat
rock protrudes over the pool, the mist surrounding it making it appear as
though it floats in a cloud of light. Sweet birdsong surrounds this haven of
peace, mixing with the deeper melody of the waves on the shore.

A hush befalls the crowd, as Tiki hovers before Maiya and Cetrok, smiling in expectation.
Tiki says, "We are gathered here today to witness the coming together of two people, Maiya and Cetrok, whose hearts and spirits are entwined as one. They now desire to profess before all the world their intention henceforth to walk the road of life together."
Cetrok is noticable nervous and looks blank faced at Tiki. Maiya beams brightly at you. Tiki smiles reassuringly at the nervous groom.
Tiki says, "To these two young people, this marriage signifies the birth of a new spirit, a spirit which is a part of each of us, yet not of any one of us alone. This "birth of spirit" reminds us of the new year, the season when all life is ready to be reborn."
(Morgianya tells the group 'man, this wedding is already too cute :)'.)
Tiki says, "It is appropriate, therefore, that this wedding of Maiya and Cetrok be on the eve of the coming new year, and that it be under the open sky, where we are close to the earth and to the unity of life, the totality of living things of which we are part. The beliefs and thoughts about love which motivate these two people are perhaps best expressed in the words of poet Kahlil Gibran:
You were born to be together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in your silent memory.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heaven dance between you.

For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
(Morgianya tells the group 'God, it's so beautiful :)'.)

Tiki beams brightly. Why is that?
(Shaltar tells the group 'even my soul-less corspe is touched. I must be ill'.)
Tiki says, "I shall ask you now to say your vows to one another. Maiya?"
Maiya looks at Cetrok with loving eyes. "Today Cetrok, I join my life to yours. Not merely as your wife, but as your friend, and your confidant. To marry the person you have set your heart upon is a joy unparalleled in life. I used to be afraid of falling in love, of giving my heart away. How could I trust a man to love me, to give to me all that I wanted to give to him?"
(Morgianya tells the group 'My lord, even I'm nervous :P'.)
Maiya says, "Cetrok, when I met you, I realized how much we could share together. You have renewed my life. I have come to this place as a woman standing alone. I will walk from it by your side. I cross the threshold with you and enter into a new and lasting commitment. Cetrok, I commit myself to you this day as your love and your wife."
Cetrok blinks as tears sping up in his eyes unheeded.
Tiki says 'Cetrok?'

Cetrok struggles to gather himself to gether and takes a deep breath. Looking into Maiya eyes he takes the most gentle tone anyone has ever heard escape his lips.
(Morgianya tells the group 'Damn it Brian'.)
(Morgianya tells the group 'I'm gonna clock ya one, too mushy :('.)
Cetrok says, "Maiya, I take you, as my friend and love, beside me and apart from me, in laughter and in tears, in conflict and tranquility, asking that you be no other than yourself, loving what I know of you, trusting what I do not know yet, in all the ways that life may find us."
(Shaltar tells the group 'whoa, deep'.)
Cetrok smiles warmly and takes another deep breath.
(Morgianya tells the group 'moan'.)

Cetrok says, "There was darkness for a long time and then there was light, and that light was you. When I first looked upon your beauty my breath became shallow and my heart skipped many a beat in that most precious of moments."
Maiya wipes a tear from her cheek.
Cetrok says, "Your love has given me wings, and our journey begins today. I want you for today, tomorrow, and forever."

Tiki beams brightly at you.
Tiki says 'May I please have your rings?'

Cetrok turns to his bestman Shaltar.
Shaltar gives a dazzling ring to Cetrok.
Maiya holds your hand lovingly.
Cetrok gives Cetrok's Love and Devotion to Tiki.

Morgianya gives Maiya's Love and Devotion to Tiki.

Maiya whispers to you 'I feel the same way :)'
Tiki closes her eyes, and wraps her small hands around the rings. Whispering a quiet prayer, her hands begin to tremble slightly. A gleaming aura of white surrounds the rings as she opens her hands to the sky. Smiling, she returns the rings to the couple.
Tiki says, "Do you Maiya, knowing this man's love for you and returning it, realizing his strengths and learning from them, recognizing his weaknesses and helping him to overcome them, take Cetrok to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
Maiya says, "I do."
Maiya smiles at you.
Tiki says, "And do you Cetrok, knowing this woman's love for you and returning it, realizing her strengths and learning form them, recognizing her weaknesses and helping her to overcome them, take Maiya to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
Cetrok says, "I do."
Tiki says, "Please place the rings on your fingers. Let these rings serve as locksnot binding you together but as keys, unlocking the secrets of your hearts for each other to know, and thus bringing you closer together forever."
Cetrok slips his right finger into Maiya's Love and Devotion.

Maiya beams brightly at you.
Cetrok smiles and looks sheepishly at the ground.
Tiki says, "Cetrok and Maiya... I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride :)"
Tiki giggles as the bashful couple hesitate.
Cetrok looks at Maiya and pulls her close to him and gives her a very tender loving kiss.

Maiya holds you in a firm loving embrace, letting you know that she'll never let you go.
Strider sniffs sadly.
Strider congratulates the two warriors on their newfound joy.
