Uelma,
I am pleased to inform you I have solved the riddle of Sarenj almost at the
complete loss of sanity, but that has all been set amends. I'm not sure
exactly how to explain my tale but I shall try in short to do so.
Yestereve I was within the glade of the national visions. Lord Lanifin and a
friend of his, the lady Serianne Iluvataar found me there in such a confused
state. At some point a debate began concerning Serenj and my state. At the
time I fear Lanifin did not completely understand my dealings with the sword
nor did he understand my erratic and unstable emotions. Presently Rhyaad a
vampire whom I know very little of entered and heard me curse the goddess
Adonia in my weakened mental state. This drove him quickly to anger and the
argument went smartly from the sword to Adonia. I was vehement in my curses
unfortunately yet again I believe things for that matter have been set right
as well.
At the wise ladies suggestion (and after much prodding by the general) I
thrust the cursed blade into what appeared to be a dead birch tree. As I had
stated no change came unto the tree even though the blade was buried deep
within its bark. Fortunately the madness that held me was considerably
weakened and for once in a long time I was clear of thought and mind.
Lanifin then suggested I research some more but that was not needed. I had
researched much in my time with the blade for I went many nights without
sleep for fear of the nightmares. It was only the clouded thought that had
kept me from seeing the answer to the most simple of riddles. Woe am I so
ignorant to what life is. I was looking through a tunnel and forgetting
the entire world around me. Life is not limited to that which walks upon
the earth. Nay, every plant and thing within beams with a life its own.
(These I believe are teachings of those who wield the power of thought
with that of mana, I am a warrior and in such am not schooled). However
that alone wasn't the solution.
Every wound can only truly be healed when that which causes it is removed.
One cannot very well expect a cut to close up if the knife which causes it
remains in the wound. Seeing my folly I sought to remove the still
bleeding blade from the tree. However some great force held it within. I
asked Lanifin's help who (most likely due to my rude nature at the time)
was at first loathe to assist but finally did with a rune of strength.
Upon successful removal of the blade, I heard the goddess Adonia's voice
all around speaking whispered blessings. Even now you can see the tree
in the glade with an seemingly ancient scar on its trunk but covered in
both leaf and blossom. I'm happy to report that my mind is returned
wholly to me and in a more clear state than ever before.
I now wish to speak with you of these things if you can spare your first
but a few moments of your time. I hope this news brings you some joy at
least, for me it is a great blessing and a burden released.
